Pharoahs Car Club Arizona
When you hear the word Pharoahs, it conjures up images of powerful ancient Egyptian rulers and their massive pyramids and monuments. The Pharoahs we are talking about also hold some historical significance. Comprised of classic cars and those who own them, one can go back to a simpler time viewing these monuments of motoring history and hearing the owners talk about their cars and experiences.
The Pharoahs Car Club was founded in 1948 in Modesto, CA. The Pharoahs are represented throughout the U.S. and worldwide by local Pharoahs Chapters. The early “Pharoahs” club was comprised mostly of WWII and Korean War Vets.
If the word Pharoahs sounds familiar to you (besides those ancient Egyptian rulers), you may have heard it before. Inspired by the hot rod cruising and the rock n' roll culture emerging after WWII, the movie “American Graffiti” was set in Modesto California, and the movie's fictional car club “Pharaohs” was based upon "The FAROS" Car Club. Because of copyright matters, the movie used the traditional spelling to avoid paying royalties to any clubs.
The local Arizona Pharoahs chapters are active in their communities helping raise money for local charities through car shows, cruise-ins and other events.
The Arizona Pharoahs meet regularly in local chapters throughout the state. The Kingman group (and those in the area) meets every Friday morning for Cars N Coffee and have regular cruise-ins at local restaurants and other venues.
The President of the Pharoahs Car Club Arizona is Mike Goodwin. If you are interested in joining the Pharaohs Car Club, inquire about their lifetime membership with the one of the local Pharoahs Car Club chapters near you.
